Presents seem to get better and better each year. From the first I-pod to the white I-pod they now have, all the presents are what everyone’s always wanted.

Have you ever gotten a present you’ve been hoping for, or something that seemed to beat all the other presents you’ve received in your life so far? Or there are also times when you feel generous, so you give a gift that outdid all gifts others have given to someone, even if you made it yourself.

Electronics, clothes, toys, or even those small cards that were hand made seem to make your day the best, or you made someone else have the best day, it’s all thanks to the gifts you receive and give during Christmas that make the holiday so joyous.

Wii’s have been a huge success in past years, new games and gadgets coming out for it, so it was no surprise to hear one of Dixie’s students, Kelsi Hall, explain that it was her favorite gift she’s received. “A Wii.. I don’t know, it’s fun... It’s just really fun.”

“The coolest present I have ever gotten was a new phone because my old phone broke.” Daniel Huerta, a sophomore said. He was obviously thrilled to have a phone and thankful for the person that got it for him.

If you’re musically talented then you must be Amanda Young, a sophomore, who claims her favorite gift was “a guitar, because it basically defined who I am today!” or Madie Johnson, a junior who explains, “probably a violin... because I had always wanted one as a little girl and dreamed of playing one, then I finally got one eight years ago.” They’ve got a lot of talent and their gifts were what makes them who they are.

Gifts are more than just a gift... It’s something that proves to show how much the person that gave it to you cares. So whether you’re the one giving or receiving a present, it doesn’t matter, it’s the thought that counts.
